Applications for Professional Scholarships are due by December 1, 2019
New and innovative accomplishments on the Web come from all kinds of organizations throughout the world. Museums and the Web recognizes that many individuals who make significant contributions to the community would be unable to attend Museums and the Web without some financial assistance. Scholarships are available to help offset the costs of attending the conference. Professionals from the developing world are strongly encouraged to apply.
Scholarships are available for professionals working in cultural institutions in the developing world or in small institutions throughout the world. Students are not eligible for scholarships, but are encouraged to Volunteer.
A competitive scholarship, covering up to the full conference registration and a full day of workshops, will be awarded to a select number of applicants. In special cases some support may also be offered for travel costs. To be eligible, you must have made a significant contribution to the development of a digital project for cultural heritage, and must demonstrate that you would not be able to attend the meeting without support.
The Conference Co-Chairs will review scholarship applications and select recipients. Successful applicants will be those whose involvement in the conference is thought to offer the most value to the applicant and to others in attendance. Applications from the developing world will be given preference.
To highlight new work, scholarship recipients will present a 30-60 minute demonstration during the conference.
To apply for a scholarship, please complete this Scholarship Application. You will be asked to outline your reasons for wanting to come to the Museums and the Web this year, and to explain how your work contributes to the development of digital projects in museums. Your application must include the URL of your organization’s website and a description of your specific role in the creation of a significant digital project for that organization. You must be recommended by a superior in your institution (preferably your immediate supervisor), who must confirm the details of your contribution to the digital project referenced.
Applications must be submitted online with supporting material emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by December 1, 2019.
Conditions of Acceptance
