Erin Canning, Aga Khan Museum, Canada
In 2019 the Aga Khan Museum was awarded a Canada Council for the Arts Digital Strategy Fund grant to explore immersive and interactive experiences with museum objects for distant audiences. In collaboration with grant partners Ryerson University Library’s Collaboratory and MIT Library’s Aga Khan Documentation Centre, the grant has led to the development of prototypes spanning virtual reality, augmented reality, and the use of new technologies to create object reproductions. This lightening talk will introduce the project and preliminary results from the first rounds of user testing that will have been completed in the first quarter of 2020.
